According to the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), reforested area and log production decreased by 78% and 4%, respectively, in 2020 compared to its level in 2012.

The second component of the Compendium released by PSA focused on environmental resources and the benefit they provide to humanity. Minerals, energy, land and soil, water, and biological resources are examples of such resources.
In terms of reforested areas, as of 2020, the entire area that has been replanted by government efforts is 47,187 hectares (ha) while the non-government sector replanted 114 ha. Compared to 2012, the amount of reforested area dropped in 2020. The highest reforested area was recorded in 2015 with 360,357 ha while the lowest which had 21,925 ha was recorded in 2019.
Meanwhile, log production decreased from 862 thousand cubic meters (m3) in 2012 to 832 thousand m3 in 2020. With 1.17 million m3, the highest log production was recorded in 2013. Fuelwood production declined in 2020 compared in 2012. It reached its lowest production with a value of 266 thousand m3 in 2017.
