The project was an upscale application of S&T interventions on a bamboo pole and mat production in Maasin, Iloilo, found to be profitable in the regular STBF implemented in the said municipality to support the raw materials needs of the Technomart Project on bamboo woven material production. The STCBF project on bamboo production has four (4) major component activities: 1) organization and capability building of farmer-clusters; 2) rehabilitation of bamboo clumps of Kawayan tinik (Bambusa blumeana); 3) bamboo nursery establishment and planting stocks production; and 4) harvesting and post-harvest treatment. This STCBF project fits nicely under the National Greening Program (NGP) of the DENR, especially its component activity on nursery establishment.
