WILUP Team Facilitates the Regional Policy Forum in CALABARZON

The WILUP Team and PPDCO conducted the CALABARZON Regional Science and Policy Forum on the R2R/WEM Approach to facilitate knowledge exchange and collaboration among various stakeholders.

The CALABARZON Regional Science and Policy Forum on the R2R/WEM Approach to Comprehensive Land Use Planning (CLUP) and the Provincial Development and Physical Framework Plan (PDPFP) took place at the Laguna Sports Complex on December 1, 2023.Ā 

This event, organized by the WILUP Team in collaboration with Laguna Provincial Planning and Development Office (PPDCO), facilitated knowledge exchange and cooperation among various stakeholders.

Distinguished speakers from government agencies in Region-4A addressed specific aspects related to CLUP and PDPFP. Meanwhile, attendees included representatives from the provincial offices of CALABARZON, comprising provincial planners and personnel from various departments. Municipal planners and officials from Laguna and Batangas were also present, along with planners and concerned personnel from regional government agencies and State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) of Region IV-A, serving as potential technical hubs of experts in CLUP Planning.

WILUP or the ā€œInstitutionalization of Guidelines on Watershed Integrated Area Land Use Planning Towards Resiliencyā€ is a DOST PCAARRD-funded project implemented by the College of Forestry and Natural Resources (CFNR) of the University of the Philippines Los BaƱos (UPLB). The project aims to enhance the robust implementation of the Ridge to Reef (R2R) or watershed ecosystem management (WEM) approach to integrated area land use planning.
