The project aims to provide assistance to disaster-prone communities in Benguet both to prevent large damages and massive animal losses as well as to support in faster rebuilding following a major crisis event caused by natural hazards and climate-related disasters. The SAFE project will utilize the initial outputs of the PCAARRD-funded program on Philippine Native Pig Conservation, Improvement and Profitable Utilization. It will operationalize a paradigm shift from reactive emergency relief to pro-active disaster risk reduction measures.
