With the development of Caraga Black native chicken, it can strengthen its capacity and capability in terms of productivity and efficiency through proper breeding and selection. Moreover, Caraga black chicken can provide a healthier option to consumers. The Project is expected to produce a breeding true-to-type population of black native chicken which is resilient to climate change conditions in Caraga and can perform good traits in growth, hatchability, taste preference, and disease tolerance. These can also serve as a genetic pool where target beneficiaries can avail of it through dispersal programs. Target users of the generated output of the study are; farmers, people’s organizations, agrarian reform beneficiaries, local government units, students and faculty in state university and colleges.
